INGREDIENTS

For the Tomahawk Steak:

  • 1 Tomahawk steak (about 1.5 kg)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 2 sprigs fresh chives (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Maple & Pepper Seasoning A Spice Affair
  • Salt to taste

For the Stuffed Mushrooms:

  • 500g mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion or shallot (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Maple & Pepper Seasoning A Spice Affair
  • 1/4 cup grated vegan cheese (optional)

PREPARATION

1. Prepare the Tomahawk Steak:

Rub the Tomahawk steak with olive oil, season generously with salt and Maple & Pepper Seasoning A Spice Affair. Let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.

2. Sear the Steak:

In a hot cast-iron skillet, melt the butter with crushed garlic. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side until a nice crust forms. Transfer to a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) and roast for 10-15 minutes to your desired doneness. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

3. Cook the Mushrooms:

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until soft (about 5-7 minutes). Set aside.

4. Make the Stuffing:

In another pan, sauté onion (or shallot) and garlic for 2-3 minutes. Add the chopped mushrooms, chives, parsley, Maple & Pepper Seasoning A Spice Affair. Cook until the mixture is fragrant and well-combined.

5. Stuff the Mushrooms:

Stuff the cooked mushrooms with the mixture, and top with vegan cheese (optional). Serve alongside your perfectly cooked Tomahawk steak.
