Tender, juicy, and full of flavour, this roast beef with creamy garlic mashed potatoes is our not-so-secret weeknight hero. Just add Butcher’s Secret and Garlic Mashed Potatoes Seasoning, roast, mash, and enjoy! 🤎
Ingredients
Main
-
2 kg sirloin roast
-
Olive oil
-
2 onions, sliced
-
3 carrots, sliced
-
2 garlic cloves, peeled
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
-
Beef broth (enough to partially cover the roast in the Dutch oven)
On the side
-
Yukon Gold potatoes (for mashing)
-
Butter & milk (for purée)
Preparation
Step 1 – Prep the roast
Coat the sirloin roast with a thin layer of olive oil. Generously rub it with Butcher’s Secret Seasoning A Spice Affair and a touch of salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2 – Assemble in the Dutch oven
Place the roast in a Dutch oven. Add the sliced onions, carrots, and garlic cloves around the meat. Pour in enough beef broth to partially cover the roast.
Step 3 – Roast
Cover the Dutch oven with its lid. Roast in the oven at 200°F (93°C) for 2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and cooked through.
Step 4 – Prepare the mashed potatoes
While the roast is finishing, boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender. Mash with butter and a splash of milk, then season generously with Garlic Mashed Potatoes Seasoning A Spice Affair.
Step 5 – Serve
Let the roast rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve alongside the roasted vegetables and a generous scoop of the garlic mashed potatoes. Pour over the broth from the pot for extra flavour.
