INGREDIENTS
For the Homemade Waffles:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 ¾ cups milk (or plant-based milk)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 tablespoon Maple Bacon Seasoning A Spice Affair
For the Maple Vegan Bacon:
- 8–10 slices vegan bacon
- 1 tablespoon Maple Bacon Seasoning A Spice Affair
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
For Serving:
- Warm maple syrup
- Butter or vegan butter
- Optional sprinkle of Maple Bacon Seasoning A Spice Affair
PREPARATION
1. Prepare the Waffle Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk and oil. Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth. Stir in Maple Bacon Seasoning A Spice Affair to infuse the batter with a smoky maple depth of flavour.
2. Cook the Waffles:
Preheat and lightly grease your waffle iron. Pour in the batter and cook until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Keep warm while preparing the topping.
3. Prepare the Maple Vegan Bacon:
