Rooting from the berries of a wild bush that grows in Mediterranean areas, I am Sumac, an essential ingredient in Arabic and oriental cooking, often preferred to lemon for my sourness and astringency.
I am also considered the secret ingredient behind the "oh so delicious" Lebanese Fattoush salad, and pack a wallop of tart, zesty, almost vinegar-like flavour that will brighten your dressings, popcorn, and even Bloody Marys!
